Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy finishes course for foreign diplomats

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) finished course for the diplomats from the South America and Caribbean titled “Caspian Basin Studies”. Certificates were given to the diplomats, who attended the course. During the ten-day course foreign diplomats discussed historical and cultural heritage of the Caspian region, the legal status of the Caspian Sea, geopolitics of the region, oil industry, economy, investment opportunities.

The discussions were held on the 20th anniversary of restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence. The diplomats visited Guba, Gobustan, Ateshgah, Bibiheybet mosque, museums. Fourteen diplomats participated in the training.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, ADA Rector Hafiz Pashayev made a speech at the ceremony for presenting certificates to the diplomats.

“The main aim of this training is to give detailed information to the diplomats from the countries situated far from our region. This is very important for Azerbaijan. The more information is given, the better activities will be carried out for Azerbaijan in the international arena,” he said.

Hafiz Pashayev told journalists that two courses will be held for foreign diplomats in summer. Diplomats from Africa and Oceania will attend the courses.
