Azerbaijan's President receives Iranian deputy foreign minister

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today Iranian deputy foreign minister Mohammad Reza Rauf Sheybani.

The deputy foreign minister conveyed greetings of Supreme Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President Ilham Aliyev.

He said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other Iranian top officials had special respect for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's personality.

President Ilham Aliyev said relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran was developing rapidly. The Head of State noted Azerbaijan and Iran had strong political relations, adding new initiatives were put forward in economic sphere, as well.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of the fact that Azerbaijan and Iran had signed numerous bilateral documents. He added all issues agreed had been implemented.

The Head of State underscored the importance of bilateral relations in terms of regional cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev recalled his regular meetings with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Head of State noted his personal friendship with Iranian President had very positive impact on friendly and fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples.

President Ilham Aliyev asked deputy foreign minister Mohammad Reza Rauf Sheybani to deliver his greetings to Supreme Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
