President: Pakistan seeks to expand bilateral relations with Azerbaijan

Pakistan intends to expand its bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, especially in economic, trade and investment spheres, The News reported.

President Asif Ali Zardari stated as much at a meeting on Thursday with Pakistan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Inayatullah Kakar.

The president felicitated Kakar and asked him to focus on further cementing bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in regard to economic, trade and investment ties with Azerbaijan.

The president also advised him to encourage investors and the business community in Azerbaijan to avail the liberal incentives package and investment friendly policies of Pakistan.

Kakar will replace Ambassador Abdul Hamid, who has held this post in Azerbaijan since July 2008.

Kakar is expected to arrive in the country in June and July, the embassy reported.
