Eldar Sabiroghlu: We don’t see necessity to give a political color to the postponement of US-Azerbaijan military exercise

"We don’t see any necessity to give a political color to this situation and to create a problem from it. Unfortunately, we face with such attempts", spokesman for the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-Colonel Eldar Sabiroghlu said.

Sabiroghlu said that the Defense Ministry was not engaged in the politics, and declared its concrete position to the organization’s temporary stop of the exercises: "Basing on the bilateral military cooperation, we continue our cooperation in other directions now".

The US-Azerbaijan military exercises "Regional Response-2011” were scheduled to be held on May 15-25, 2011. Due to unknown reasons the exercise was postponed until the uncertain date." The Defense Ministry said information would be given after the date of the exercises is fixed.
