Nagorno Karabakh is a territory of Azerbaijan and it should be returned to Azerbaijan, Director General of ISESCO

The position of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh is firm, Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO, who is taking part in the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, said.

"We hope that Armenia will at last execute all resolutions and decisions of international organizations related to the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Nagorno-Karabakh is the ancient territory of Azerbaijan and it should be returned to Azerbaijan, and people must be allowed to live in peace in their homeland", the ISESCO Director General said.

He went on to say: "We support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the right of Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. We urge the conflict side to implement UN Security Council resolutions demanding liberation of the Azerbaijan territories and restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. As now, the relevant resolutions of the United Nations have not been implemented".

"The global agreement promoting dialogue of cultures and alliance of civilizations is one of the most effective means to achieve lasting peace and security, and a World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue is a major step on a path leading to peace", Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri emphasized.
