Sheikh of Caucasus addresses to world community on Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis

Head of Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh addressed to the world community in connection with the Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis on March 31, CMO press service reported.

"I urge the world community not to remain indifferent to the tragedies of the Azerbaijani people, to give a principled legal assessment to the worst acts of genocide committed by our hostile neighbor against us, to show solidarity with us in a fair resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, to support our fair position," Pashazadeh said in a statement.

Pashazadeh said the world community should know the bitter truth about the genocide of Azerbaijanis.

"The Azerbaijani people suffer both from aggression of the Armenian extremists and from misinformation spread by the Armenian lobby in the world. This country, using the myth of its "historical martyrdom", is trying to justify to the world public the atrocities, massacres, military aggression against Azerbaijan, the occupation. But, unfortunately, in today's world, we are witnessing the fact that not real, but false genocide is recognized.

Although we have made an appeal for the political and legal assessment of Khojaly massacre that occurred in the recent past, in 1992, but they have not yet yielded any results," said Pashazadeh.
