March 30, the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan hosted a presentation of the film on the genocide of the Azerbaijanis. The film has been taken by the Turkish TRT state television.
Turks should be well aware with and learn about their history, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said at the presentation ceremony. He said a single position of Turkey and Azerbaijan should be reflected in the activities of the diaspora. "One nation should not have two diasporas," said the ambassador.
Kilic said the media representatives should play a special role in creating this unity, and they will do a great work in this respect.
In early 1990, Turkey closed its border with Armenia, precisely because treasured fraternal relations with Azerbaijan, he said. "Turkey has always been and will be close to Azerbaijan," said Kilic.
Such films are very valuable in order to bring the truth about the genocide to Turks throughout the world, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said at the presentation.
"It is necessary to prevent the spread of lie about fake "genocide" by the Armenians, Pashayeva said. The film tells about the crimes committed against the Azerbaijani people since the beginning of the last century, Pashayeva added. She said diaspora representatives of both countries must support the fight against the Armenians.
