
New co-chair of the U.S. Congressional Caucus on Azerbaijan has assumed office.
Member of the Democratic Party, Congressman Daniel Boren has begun acting in capacity of co-chair of the House Caucus on Azerbaijan. Previous co-chair Solomon Ortiz’s term of congress membership expired in 2010.
The embassy said Boren was born in 1973. He graduated from Texas Christian University and the University of Oklahoma. He is the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd congressional district, serving since 2005. He is the member of the House Committee on Natural Resources and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
He is the son of David Lyle Boren, current University of Oklahoma President and former Governor of Oklahoma and U.S. Senator. His grandfather, Lyle Boren, also served in the U.S. Congress — representing southeastern Oklahoma.
