
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to appoint Nadir Huseynov the new Deputy Foreign Minister, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.
Earlier Huseynov led the Ministry's Consular Department. He replaced Vagif Sadikhov, who was appointed the ambassador to Italy. Huseynov also supervised the ministry's departments of information, human resources and retraining, monetary and financial, history and archives, legal support, language unit, relations with the ministries and foreign missions, the Secretariat of the Azerbaijani National Commission for UNESCO.
Huseynov was born in 1960 in Ganja. In 1983 he graduated from the Faculty of International Relations and International Law of the Kyiv State University. In 1983-1992, Huseynov was Auditor of the Council of Foreign Tourism under the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers. In 1992-1998, he worked in the State Protocol Department of Foreign Ministry and he headed the consular department since 1998.
