The next meeting of the Plenum of Azerbaijani Constitutional Court started today.

The Azerbaijani Constitutional Court extended the discussion of the results of the parliamentary elections until Nov. 29.
Today's plenary session of the Azerbaijani Constitutional Court will discuss the case on the compliance of the Central Election Commission's (CEC) protocol on the results of the parliamentary elections with the Article 89 of the Azerbaijani Constitution and the Electoral Code, and the approval of the election results.
"The Constitutional Court involved experts to verify the results of the elections," Judge Rafael Gvaladze said speaking at the plenary session.
---------------14:21Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev opened the meeting. The court considered the issue on checking and confirming the results of the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on November 7 in accordance with article 86 of the Constitution.
743 candidates were registered for the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on November 7, 2010. 53 of the registered candidates withdrew their candidacies. 690 candidates ran for 125 seats in the parliament.
The voters’ lists included 4 946 588 people. 2 480 205 people (50.14% of the voters) voted. Over 48,000 observers, including 1024 international observers followed the elections. CEC invalidated the results of the voting in 46 polling stations of 20 constituency election commissions.
New Azerbaijan Party has won 71 seats, Citizen Solidarity Party 3, Motherland Party 2, Democratic Reforms Party 1, United Popular Azerbaijan Front Party 1, Great Establishment Party 1, Citizen Solidarity Party 1, Justice Party 1, Azerbaijan Social Welfare Party 1, Hope Party 1 seat in the parliament.
On November 22, the CEC confirmed the final protocol on the elections and submitted to the Constitutional Court.
