Mazahir Panahov: "Conditions created during presidential elections in Azerbaijan this year will seriously differ from those, created previously"

09 April 2008 [15:56] - TODAY.AZ
"Conditions created during presidential elections in Azerbaijan this year will seriously differ from those, created previously, because all election commissions have been provided with better opportunities and they will be able to ensure democratic elections", said Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), APA reports.

He said that the district electoral commissions had been provided with new buildings and other appropriate facilities.

"All forces have been mobilized for the specification of the polls and they will be more accurate than previous ones. We used hotline and advertising spots and citizens realized that it is also their duty to be included in the polls". Mazahir Panahov said that the pilot projects had been carried out and monitors installed in the dense populated areas, which informed people about the voting process during the last parliamentary elections. He said this experience would be used in the upcoming presidential elections and cover many districts as well.
