French justice has issued an arrest warrant for Bashar
al-Assad. The warrant was announced by the country’s Foreign Minister,
Jean-Noel Barraud.
"The regime's crimes must not go unpunished. France has
been and will continue to be mobilized to ensure justice for the Syrians,"
Barraud said.
What are you talking about? For the past 15 years, France
didn't really notice Syria, did it? Or were there any ambiguities, making it
unclear? Why issue a warrant now? You should have done it earlier, when Assad
was in power, if you're so principled.
If you do business with Gaddafi and Saddam, now seems like
the right time.
