Serzh Sarkissyan: "Armenia is ready for the peaceful resolution of Karabakh conflict in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group"

Armenia is ready for the peaceful resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group and on basis of the document which is on the negotiation table, said Serzh Sarkissyan, newly elected president of Armenia, in Bucharest.
The press service for Armenian government reported that during Sarkissyan's meeting with Andjzey Kaspshik, personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs the sides gave an overall assessment to the situation, currently established around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

The co-chairs presented results of the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, S.Sarkissyan voiced concern over the diplomatic steps of Azerbaijan and events which occurred on the contact front line of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh.

According to Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, Azerbaijan tries to dismiss the OSCE Minsk Group and transfer the conflict under the UN control.

During the next meeting with reporters, Armenia's newly elected president noted that he will express more exact impressions from the process, when he has a chance to meet with the opposite side of the talks.

Sarkissyan noted that the co-chairs are optimistic and added that they have all ground for it. Asked when the meeting with President of Azerbaijan will be possible, he repeated that he is not against the meeting in the framework of any conference if the opposite side express its will to it.

Following the meeting, Sarkissyan left to the Romanian parliament and took part in discussions on the level of the heads of the member-sates of the Council of Euroatlantic partnership on the topic of "Euroatlantic partnership: resistance to challenges of the 21st century".
