Prosecutor demands to sentence political scientist Rovshan Novruzoghlu to 6 years of imprisonment

The Court of Grave Crimes, presided by judge Alekper Guliyev, held a hearing on the case of Rovshan Novruzoghlu, head of the Center of Combat with International Terrorism and Corruption.
The due information was provided by political scientist's defender Natik Mustafayev.

He said the state prosecutor demanded the 6 year imprisonment for his defendant.

Thus, defenders are expected to speak at the next session and the verdict will be passed. The process is scheduled for April 9, 11:00 a.m.

It should be noted that Novruzoghlu faces charges under articles 320.1 (falsification of an ID card or any other official document, presenting the right or releasing from duties), 320.2 (deliberate use of falsified documents), 310 (appropriation of powers) of the Criminal Code on basis of the appeal of the Baku city administration to the General Prosecution.

The Nasimi district court has chosen a preventive measure in a form of a two month arrest. The term was twice protracted for a month. He is kept in the investigation ward of the Ministry of National Security.
