Tahir Kerimli says opposition's attempts to collaborate with exes to fail

02 March 2007 [09:00] - TODAY.AZ
Opposition's attempts to form a group against the government contradict our interests, Unity Party chairman Tahir Kerimli said.

He condemned the attempts to collaborate with ex-officials and said they will be unsuccessful. Opposition tries to collaborate with some exes. Opposition, stating it fights against corruption, wants to benefit by the people engaged in corruption, he told APA.

He also took a stance on the statements on the creation of united force of opposition.

It is not a new idea. Several parties can form a united alliance, but the opposition cannot have united force, because it has no social support. Party leaders know it well and that's why they try to attract former officials, he said.
