Parliament's autumn session starts

The first sitting of Azerbaijani parliament's autumn session was held.

There are 26 issues, including the working plan of the autumn session on the agenda of the first sitting, APA reports.

Parliamentarians gave special attention to the ratification of the UNESCO's Convention on Protection of immaterial cultural heritage. Nazim Jafarov, head of the standing commission for cultural affairs stressed the importance of joining the Convention. He said the Azerbaijani people are one of the few peoples possessing cultural heritage at the same time. He also said the text of the Convention should be compiled in the Turkish language as well. "The Convention has been made in six international languages. It would be better if it is made in Turkish."

Parliamentarian Samad Seyidov touched on the advantages of joining the Convention taking into account that fact that some part of Azerbaijani material and cultural heritage remained in the territories occupied by Armenians.

Vice-president Valeh Askarov made remarks to the language of the Convention asking for keeping plain language in further documents. The issue was adopted after debates.

The issue on establishing Azerbaijani embassies in Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Thailand and Mexico, ratification of bilateral agreements with several states and other documents were adopted at the sitting.

Milli Majlis worked without a break in the first day of the autumn session.
