
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughters, Vice-President of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva have attended the opening of the Rehabilitation Center for People with Down Syndrome in the capital’s Nizami district.
The First Lady was informed that the center’s territory occupies a total area of 1 hectare, while the main and assistant blocks cover an area of 7,300 square meters.
Construction of the three-storey building was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva inspected conditions created at the center.
The First Lady viewed a photo stand reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev’s care to children.
Mehriban Aliyeva was informed that computer, speech therapy, mathematics, astronomy and other assistant rooms at the center were provided with all necessary equipment.
The First Lady and her daughters viewed the gym and the swimming pool.
Then First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva watched children’s performances.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation donated a bus to the Down Syndrome Rehabilitation Center.
