Azerbaijani President in The Times` Top 100 to watch in 2012

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been included in the Times`s Top 100 most influential people to watch in 2012. “Azerbaijan’s President claims his country is the most rapidly developing one in the world and Britain is starting to feel it,” the Times says.

“Shopping malls and five-star hotels are springing up in Baku to lure us to the future Dubai of the Caspian, while a plush Azerbaijani restaurant has just opened in Knightsbridge and Conde Nast has started publishing an international version of the glossy magazine.”

The Times` Top 100 to watch in 2012 also includes U.S. President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British PM David Cameron, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Queen Elizabeth II and Sarkozy`s main opponent in the upcoming presidential polls, Francois Hollande.
