Orlando Bloom 'won't return to Pirates Of The Caribbean'

28 January 2010 [13:35] - TODAY.AZ
Orlando Bloom will not be reprising his role in the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, the actor has revealed.
The 33-year-old played Will Turner in the first three films but told MTV that he wouldn't be returning to the franchise for the next installment Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

When asked if he could return, Bloom replied: "Not this time."

"I think Will is sort of swimming around with the fish at the bottom of the ocean."

Bloom said he decided to leave so that he could try out new roles.

"I had a great time making those movies," he said.

"I just really wanted to do different things, but I think it's going to be great. Whatever Johnny [Depp] does, I think it's fantastic."

Although it looks like Orlando hasn't exactly ventured very far in hunting down those parts; he also revealed that he's eager to return to play elf-prince Legolas in the new Hobbit movie.

"I shot an email to [Peter Jackson] and I said, 'You know, if you want me to don the blond wig and pointy ears again, I'd be honoured to do it.'

"He said - funnily enough - 'Well, we'll see'. They're very, very hush-hush."

The new Pirates Of The Caribbean film will be directed by Rob Marshall and is due to be released next year.
