Azerbaijan, Iran seek to coop in construction of power plants

Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Reza Attarzadeh and Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov discussed boosting cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in construction of power plants, official website of the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers dolat.ir reported on Thursday.

During the meeting, Khalafov said that Azerbaijan is interested in signing a contract on cooperation with Iran on the joint construction and use of Khudaferin dam.

He said cooperation between the two countries successfully continues in the sphere of the Araz River's water and energy potential use, and Azerbaijan is interested in boosting cooperation in this sphere. In turn, Attarzadeh also stressed his country's interest in boosting cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres, particularly in the energy sector.
