Baku hosts international ICT conference

Baku hosts international conference on “The competence of teachers in a society based on knowledge: politics, pedagogy and social skills”.

The event is organized by UNESCO, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.

The main objective of the conference - a discussion of strategies, activities and experiences related to professional development of teachers based on their primary competencies (ICT, educational and social competence) in a society based on knowledge. The conference is attended by more than 20 foreign experts and 60 local professionals. Experts are from the following countries: Russia, Malaysia, Slovakia, Finland, Netherlands, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey, Lithuania and Belarus.

The main topics of the conference: the competence of teachers in ICT, free educational resources and the development of vocational education. The conference also provides a presentation of the results of a joint project of UNESCO, the Japanese Government, Ministry of Education and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on “Development of vocational education in Azerbaijan”.
