Azerbaijani mobile operator to launch new project

The Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon plans to launch a new innovation center Future Lab in 2012, Azerfon Corporate Communications Department head Elshad Farzaliyev told media today. A new project is the first in the CIS. It will be presented at the Bakutel exhibition, to be held in Baku on November 23-26.

He said that there are five such centers in the world, in particular in Spain, South Korea, England, the US and Japan.The new project is the center of the innovative service development based on mobile technologies. They will be directed to the needs of the operator's subscribers. The center will develop technologies for the social sectors in Azerbaijan."We will actively implement these technologies for social development in Azerbaijan," Farzaliyev said.

Azerfon company, known as Nar Mobile and Azerfon-Vodafone brands, started its operations in Azerbaijan in 2007. At present, this is the most innovative and transparent telecommunication company.At present, Azerfon network covers 80 percent of Azerbaijani territory by offering services based on 3G.
