
Chairman of the Azerbaijan Central Bank Elman Rustamov met World
Bank's president Robert Zoellick, as part of "the Days of Azerbaijan" in
the World Bank Group's head office in Washington.
During the
meeting, they exchanged views on the history of cooperation,
achievements and prospects for relationship.
They also discussed
various directions of a new economic development strategy for the
country. Rustamov said the WB had supported Azerbaijan in the
forming economic financial system.
The parties discussed joint
projects implemented and business environment.

Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov made a
presentation on the meeting titled "Azerbaijan's economic modernization
and post-crisis situation" at the Georgetown University as part of
Azerbaijani Days.
Rustamov touched upon ongoing reforms, general
information about Azerbaijan, financial stability, new economic
strategy, monetary policy. He lingered around measures to avoid the
negative impact of global crisis.
The presentation aroused keen
interest of teachers and students of the university. Elmar Rustamov
answered questions from participants.

Elman Rustamov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Central Bank met here with Michel Mordasini, Executive Directof of the World Bank and Rene Weber, Executive Director of the Internatioanl Monetary Fund to discuss cooperation and economic situation in Azerbaijan.
Rustamov pointed out Azerbaijan is one of the world`s leaders in terms of economic growth rates.
Mordasini and Weber, for their part, expressed satisfction with the high level of Azerbaijan's relatinos with these organiations.
Rustamov presetned keepsakes reflecting Azerbaijan's culture to both directors.
