Japan to allocate grant on construction high-speed railways in Azerbaijan

Japanese Government will allocate some $200 000 grant to Azerbaijani Government to arrange technical-economic basis for project on building high-speed railways in Azerbaijan.

According to the information, given from Transport Ministry to INTERFAX Azerbaijani agency, agreement on this issue will be reached soon.

According to the primary agreement the technical-economic basis will be arranged by Japanese Company Itochu.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani Government intends to establish high-speed railway in Baku-Boyukkesik area. And this area is a part of Asia-Europe railway passage.

It's not defined yet how much time is needed to realize the project. Meanwhile, the trains in this railway are expected to run at a speed of 250-350 km. ANS
