Azerenerji to pay on loans some $35 million in 2005

During the last 3,5 years the Joint Stock Company (JSC) Azerenerji paid on loans, allocated by he international financial institutions some $100 million, head of Azerenerji Etibar Pirverdiyev stated on 5 August at the news conference.
Since 1997 investments to the electrical energy objects of Azerbaijan were about $400 million. During this year payment on loans will be around $35 million. The same amount is supposed in 2006.

According to him, the cost price of 1 kvt/h of electrical power generating is on average 130 manats by the Azerenerji system. However, Azerenerji sells the power to energy distributing companies (Barmek and Bayva) at the price of 71 manats per 1 kv/t. (Trend)

The average losses within entire Azerenerji are 4% for today. «The main losses fall at Barmek ? Bayva. If earlier, by operation of «Bakupowernetwork” the losses were 14-15%, now, when Barmek and Bayva operators, this figure grew up to over 16%», - Pirverdiyev pointed out.

As head of Azerenerji noted, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) receives electrical power from Iran and Turkey. In winter the power demands of NAR are 250 mwt. «At present NAR receives power from Iran in the volume of 120 MWT. Earlier it was only 40-50 mwt, however at the result of talks with the Iranian side the power export volume increased”, Pirverdiyev said.

In 2006 Azerenerji supposes to transfer a number of power turbines in NAR from diesel fuel to gas. The relevant accord exists with Italian FIAT.
