SOCAR heralds projects competition

SOCAR's Science Foundation has announced contests for research projects and other research activities for 2013, a statement posted on the official website of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) said today.

The projects submitted to the Foundation must relate to earth sciences, technical and chemical sciences.

Preference will be given to the following areas: search and research prospects of hydrocarbon fields in deep water, the creation of complex computer programmes and three-dimensional geological and hydrodynamic models of hydrocarbon resources, the development of mechanisms for the rational use of human resources by using intelligent information technologies.

Also the creation of chemicals, oils for special purpose, fuel components of high quality for the oil and gas production, oil refining industry, military industry and agriculture. The use of rational methods of optimising oil and gas production from an economic point of view, using software and information technologies and researching capabilities to rationally use non-traditional energy sources.

An application form and other required documents must be submitted from March 1 to April 30, 2013.

The contest results will be announced no later than September 20, 2013.
