International tournament on the parachuting dated for 88th anniversary of birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev ended in Balakan aviation center.
In the tournament held at the initiative of Republican Council of the Voluntary Military-Patriotic and Sports-Technical Society, along with the Azerbaijan sportsmen also were taking part the parachutists from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
Ceremony of official closing of the international tournament took place on May 4. The team heads noted high level of the organization of tournament, expressing gratitude to regional authorities for the created conditions.
Before the beginning of rewarding ceremony, the parachutists demonstrated their ability in demonstration performances. The audience cheered performance of the Azerbaijan, Russian, Belarus and Kazakhstan parachutists.
Members of youth national team of Azerbaijan, schoolboys of Balaken region, pupils of the aviation center Nigar Abdullayeva, 12, and Leyla Aliyeva, 13, have established on tournament a record on free parachute jumps from 800 meters height.
In the international tournament the Belarus team of parachutists was the first. Russian and Azerbaijani teams were second and third, respectively.
The chairman of Republican Council of the Voluntary Military-Patriotic and Sports-Technical Society, major general Novruzali Orujov and the deputy head of Balaken Executive Power Mohammed Sharifov handed over to winners of the international tournament Cups and presents.
