Participants of the Azerbaijan-Europe Cycling Tour have reached Gabala, a region in the north of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan-Europe Cycling Tour is co-organized by the Azerbaijani ministries of Foreign Affairs, Sports and Youth, and Ecology and Natural Resources.
The project is aimed at promoting the environmental and food security and the use of renewable energy sources, advocating healthy life-style, as well as raising public awareness on environmental issues pertinent to the whole European area.
32 cyclists from 14 countries, including Azeri deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov and Lithuania's ambassador in Baku Kestutis Kudzmanas, viewed must-see places and historic monuments in Gabala. The Azerbaijan-Europe Cycling Tour`s participants already visited the Shamakhi and Ismayilly regions, and are scheduled to travel to Goychay, Mingachevir and Ganja.
