Erik Lamela is now officially a new Tottenham Hotspur player. Roma has issued an official announcement confirming the sale of its Argentine midfielder to the London setup. The €30 million deal is the penultimate step needed before the Gareth Bale signing can finally be concluded.
The London club now has its substitute for the Welshman, and makes way for the most expensive signing in football's history. With Lamela at White Hart Lane, Real Madrid can now put the finishing touches to the seemingly endless negotiations for their star player.
Lamela will join forces with the likes of Soldado, Paulinho, Capoue and Chadli. In the end, Spurs will have spent more or less the same amount in these signings as it cashed in on the sale of its number one player.
