Baku State Central Traffic Police Department spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Vagif Asadov said about 302 auto hooligans in Baku during the 11 months of 2011. Of them 51, were brought administrative responsibility because of repeated violations.
He said most of the detained auto hooligans are young people aged 20-30 years. “If It turns out that they are students, then we inform the leadership of their schools to take measures,” he said. Moreover, he said, there were recorded 39 traffic accidents involving auto hooligans during this period. These traffic accidents killed 21 and injured 27 people.
Assad said auto hooligans roughly violate traffic regulations and
endanger other road users, showing disrespect for society. He said the
police will conduct raids and take serious measures against them.
