
Caucasian Muslims Clerical Office (CMCO) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Turkey have signed a joint declaration in Baku.
The declaration was signed by the CMCO Chairman Haji Sheikulislam Allahshukur Pashazade and Minister for Religious Affairs of Turkey Mehmet Germez.
The declaration states that joint efforts will continue to prevent the ideological propaganda of harmful religious movements that do not correspond to national and religious values of Turkey and Azerbaijan and moral principles of traditional Islam, as well as prevent separatist groups, terrorist organizations, contributing to instability in the Caucasus, the Balkans and Anadolu.
The declaration also reflects a common position on the fair settlement of the Karabakh problem, which assumes a strategic importance for the region.
Also, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Turkey and CMCO consider it important to intensify the exchange of teachers and students between religious schools and institutions of both countries, as well as organize exchange of experiences between the imams and akhunds and vaizami (preachers).
