Events tickets to be available online

An electronic system is being set up which will enable tickets for sporting and cultural events in Baku to be bought online.

The head of CAT Brain Entertainment, Gudrat Aliyev, said that all the box offices of state-owned cultural facilities in Baku would be connected to the iticket.az system.

The facility has been registered in the e-commerce system and interfaces with such social networks such as Facebook, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Google+ and Mail.ru. Payment will be made via international payment systems Visa International and Master Card and by the end of the year can also be made via WebMoney and PayPal.

Work to connect the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan to the system is nearing completion, Gudrat Aliyev said. At the beginning of next week, football fans will be able to buy match tickets online.

Aliyev also said that the Park Cinema box office had already been connected, while work to connect other cultural facilities in Baku would be completed in the next two months.

The company also plans to arrange the online sale of tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest which will held in Baku in May 2012. The sale of tickets may begin in November, Aliyev said.
