25 July 2011 [10:00] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) appealed to the Tariff Council for determining tuition fees of the doctoral education, first vice-president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Arif Hashimov said.

He said the proposals had been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

This year doctoral program will be free for the citizens of Azerbaijan. If the Tariff Council confirms, fee-based doctoral education may start from next year. Hashimov said doctoral education is not free for the stateless persons and foreigners.

“The scientific institutions determine this amount themselves. This amount is set as AZN 2500 for ANAS. According to the rules, concession can be made concerning this amount. We want to offer opportunities for the Azerbaijanis, who want to apply for doctoral program from Georgia and Russia,” he said.

First vice-president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences said the submission of applications will be declared next month. The applications will be received from 1 till 30 September. The exams will be held in October. Hashimov said there is no age limit for application to doctoral program.
