Migrants from more than 90 countries live in Azerbaijan

“Representatives of a number of nations from more than 90 countries are living as migrants in Azerbaijan,” chief of the State Migration Service Arzu Rahimov said.

He said that there are more migrants from Russia, Georgia, Iran and Turkey. Arzu Rahimov said over 20 laws and normative acts related to migration had been adopted in Azerbaijan, measures were being taken to protect the rights of migrants.

“The process of registration of the foreigners has been improved,” he said.

Chief of the State Migration Service said 20 663 migrants had applied to the service within the five months. 5707 of them are connected with the permission to work. 3025 of them are connected with the permission for individual activity, 1682 extension of the term of contract.
