Chief of State Veterinary Service: Virus threat, established in Europe in connection with meat products, is not a serious problem for Azerbaijan

28 June 2011 [18:12] - TODAY.AZ
The live cattle, brought to Azerbaijan from Europe, is contained in quarantine and its importation is carried out only after the inspections, chief of Agriculture Ministry’s State Veterinary Service Siyala Rustamova told journalists.

Rustamova said that the virus threat, established in Europe in connection with meat products, is not a serious problem for Azerbaijan.

According to her, the meat is brought to Azerbaijan mainly from India. The meat brought to Azerbaijan from this country is inspected in the republic veterinary laboratory.

There are some assumptions that the source of enteric infection, which caused human victims in Europe, can be meat products.
