Four school sport festivals to be held in Azerbaijan

With the support of the British Embassy Azerbaijan and in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ministry of Education, the British Council is pleased to announce four School Sport Festivals within "1 year to go till London 2012" campaign. The festivals will take place in Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lenkaran and Sheki between 23 June -23 July 2011, British Council said.

The Sport festivals will involve girls and boys from each region supported by a Physical Education teacher previously trained by the British Council within the International Inspiration project. In total 100 children will enjoy participating in different sport tournaments to mark one year to go until the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.

The festivals will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the National Olympic Committee, the National Paralympic Committee, Youth and Sport Department, Education Department, Azerbaijan Sport and PE Academy, Azerbaijan Teachers Institute, different Sport Federations and parents of the children taking part in the festivals.
