
On June 06, Baku will host the Day of Russian language in the Russian Information and Cultural center.
The single day of Russian language has been held since 2011 upon the initiative of Russian president Dmitry Medvedev every year on the birthday of poet Alexander Pushkin, June 6. Besides, this day was declared the international day of Russian language by the UN as an official language of the organization.
The event will bring together Russian ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin, bishop of Baku Alexander, Azerbaijani MPs, representatives of the Azerbaijani Education Ministry and schools.
Within the event, a ceremony will be held to award winners of Olympiad in Russian language and literature amongst schools with Russian language education and schools participating in project of deepening education of Russian language at Azerbaijani schools as well as winners of project "Pushkinian" which is held since the beginning of the year.
