Azerbaijan will prepare regulations for tourism development

11 May 2011 [19:00] - TODAY.AZ
The number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan is expected to increase by 10 percent in 2011 compared to 2010, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev told reporters.
He said the increase in the number of tourists arriving in Azerbaijan will have a positive impact on implementation of new infrastructure projects in the country.

It is necessary to attach more importance to the preparation and implementation of regulations aimed at the Azerbaijani tourism development, Garayev said.

"One of the main measures to be undertaken in this direction is to upgrade tourism statistics and define types of services," Garayev said.

A draft project on modernization of the Azerbaijanfilm Film Studio named after Jafar Jabbarli will be developed in 2011, he said. Talks will be held with French companies on this subject at the Cannes Festival.

"The Azerbaijani Hall will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival tomorrow. During the event, I will meet with representatives of French companies and talks in this direction will continue. We hope to create a project on new studio in Azerbaijan by late 201," he said.
