Azerbaijan successfully cooperates with Turkey in the sphere of social provision, Salim Muslimov, Chairman of the State Social Security Fund of Azerbaijan (SSSF), told reporters on Thursday. He spoke before a meeting with members of a Turkish team led by Ahmet Zahterogullari, Deputy Labor and Social Security Minister of Turkey.
"Turkey, along with Ukraine, is Azerbaijan's leading partner in the sphere of pension provision, which faces no problems in Azerbaijan", Muslimov noted.
"According to the terms of agreement between two our countries, a Turkish citizen's length of labor service in Azerbaijan is considered similar to that in his/her native land, and vice versa", he said.
Nevertheless, there are some nuances caused by differences of legal provisions of the two countries, according to him.
"For example, medical insurance of employees and professional diseases and disability insurance is the responsibility of a separate social security agency in Turkey but is carried out according to market-based principles in Azerbaijan", the SSSF Chief said.
Aspects above will be examined, and experience in this sphere will be exchanged at today's meeting, according to him.
Turkish-Azerbaijani relations in the sphere of social security like that in the rest spheres are at a high level, according to Zahterogullari.
