Education Minister: Azerbaijani teachers may be considered civil servants

Azerbaijani teachers will be appreciated soon, Education Minister Misir Mardaonov said at a scientific conference held in Digyah secondary school No 4 in Masalli region.

He said that the teachers will be considered civil servants.

"By determining the salaries worth 250-300 manat, we can not demand much," Mardanov said.

He said that the reforms, conducted in the sphere of education in Azerbaijan since 2000, give results. "Over 2,000 schools have been recently built and commissioned," he said. The schools have been equipped with modern facilities."
