Network of terminals to serve taxpayers expanded in Azerbaijan

11 February 2011 [19:00] - TODAY.AZ
The Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan put into operation eight terminals in order to develop a system of voluntary tax payment, form an acceptable business climate in Azerbaijan and further improve the efficiency of service to taxpayers, the Ministry's official website said.

Terminals were put into use for taxpayers operating in Shabran, Siyazan, Garadagh, Gedabey, Kurdamir, Agstafa and Tovuz districts, as well as in Naftalan city.

"Creating a network of terminals to serve the taxpayers is one of the examples of state support for entrepreneurship, as well as one of indicators of dissemination of technological development in the economic system of Azerbaijan," said.

Through these terminals the taxpayers will be able to perform electronic document circulation with the tax authorities correctly, make returns and other accounting documents, and then send them and receive necessary explanations.

Currently 15 terminals operate in the regions of the country, and in Baku terminals were installed in May last year in Mardyakan and in January 2011 - in Nasimi district. Currently, their total number reaches 25, and two terminals will be put into operation soon.

In Azerbaijan, generally 82% of taxpayers provide statements in electronic form, which is significantly above the European average indicator, which ranges from 40 to 50 percent, said earlier the first deputy taxes minister Natig Amirov.

According to him, this indicator makes up 93 percent for VAT payers.
