
The water level rise in Kura River is threatening the important facilities in Shirvan. A local official said that Kura level rose 20-22 cm within 12 hours.
The situation is beyond control in Hajigahramanli, Cilpagli, Kurkorpu and Bayramli settlements. Dadashbeyli village bordered with Shirvan region was also flooded. The torrents are threatening the Old City area of Shirvan. Kura level is 1.5 m above that territory.
All workers, even teachers and policemen were involved in rescue operations. The most critical situation is around the Shirvan channel which is main water supplier of the town. It tackled water supply of the town for two days. Residents are evacuated and some of them leave their houses without any warnings.
Shirvan power station workers told APA the cable tunnels between the station and river were flooded by the ground waters.
