550 Azerbaijanis die in Armenian captivity

According to the state commission for war prisoners, hostages and missed people, 550 Azerbaijanis were killed in the Armenian captivity or died by different reasons (torture, diseases and others).

The due information is available at the website of the State Commission, including 104 women, 446 men. Only the first names of 137 people are known, while 74 people remain unknown.

Thus, in the result of a work carried out by the work group in 2007, the state commission defined the fate of 231 people (79 people are alive, 75 people died, 77 people were mentioned in the lists repeatedly), who were recorded in the lists of the missed people. In the result of it, these people were taken off the list of the missed.

Thus, the number of war prisoners, hostages and missed people makes up 4354 people (as of 01.07.2008), including 3503 war prisoners and 841 citilians (9 people remain unknown: it is not clear whether they are war prisoners or civilians).

Of the whole number of civilians 47 are children (16 underage girld), 268 women and 371 elderly people.

The state commission has information and testimonies on the facts of capturing 783 of 4354 missed citizens of Azerbaijan, by Armenians.

Thus, 1393 people were released from the Armenian captivity including 343 women, 1050 men. These include 168 children (65 underage girls), 289 elderly people (112 women).
