Azerbaijani journalists to hold a rally

24 April 2007 [08:28] - TODAY.AZ
Some Azerbaijani journalists will organize a rally in Sabir park in the capital Baku on Tuesday.

The chief editor of "Gundalik Azerbaijan" newspaper Sahvalad Chobanoghlu told APA that the participants of the rally will call for the release of newly-arrested Eynulla Fatullayev, founder and chief editor of the newspaper and stopping pressure against media.

He also said they applied to the Baku Mayor's Office on Monday, but the application was rejected. "We were told that according to the law application is to be made 5 days before. But we applied a week ago during the last action but without success. So we will hold a rally even without permission," the chief-editor said.
