Religious freedom and the right to worship are enjoyed in Azerbaijan, top Muslim cleric says

"Azerbaijan achieved high religious tolerance. This situation is not so good in many countries who claim tolerance," Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, head of Caucasian Muslims Office told journalists.

Pashazadeh said freedom of religion and the freedom of conscience are ensured in the country adding everyone irrespective of his religion and belief worship freely in Azerbaijan.

"There is dialogue between Christian and Jewish communities and Moslems in Azerbaijan. Interreligious conferences, meetings are being held. Tolerance is moral character of the Azerbaijani people," he underscored, APA reports.
