NTRC receives many appeals for opening new TV channels

Nushiravan Maharramli said that they appealed to the President's Office regarding this problem.

"This case will be considered in the President's Office. Though the law has been adopted recently, there is a need for its amendment," he said.

He noted that they will make decision on broadcasting of a new channel. He also said that they try to increase the number of local channels in the regions.

"Seeing logistics of TV channels in the regions, we decided to consider this problem again. Logistics of the TV channels in the regions is very weak and there is almost no advertising market in the regions. Though we intended to give license to new TV channels in Shamahky and Ali Bayramly we could not do it because of these reasons. But there are enough appeals on opening of new TV channels," he said, APA reports.
