Uzbek FM: Tashkent supports further strengthening of strategic relations with Baku & Ankara

The trilateral dialogue format between Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkiye is establishing a robust and efficient platform for cooperation among the three Turkic states. The leaders of these nations have played a significant role in elevating intergovernmental relations to a high level, Azernews reports, citing Uzbek Foreign Minister Baxtiyar Saidov, as he said during a joint press conference held in Ankara following the trilateral meeting of the foreign, trade, and transport ministers of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkiye.

The minister recalled the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkiye and emphasized that the alliance with Azerbaijan is also at a high level.

He noted that mutually beneficial cooperation opens up new opportunities for the countries.

"In recent years, the interaction between our states has reached unprecedented levels. Our positions in foreign policy are converging, dynamics are being observed, and new directions for cooperation are being determined," said Saidov.

He added that Tashkent is ready to further strengthen the strategic dialogue with Baku and Ankara.The Uzbek foreign minister highlighted the country's open, pragmatic, and proactive political course under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"Despite the crises and challenges of the modern era, Tashkent continues its course of deepening friendly relations with Central Asian countries and developing partnerships with various global partners," he stated.

According to the minister, relations with Turkic states, including the development of transport corridors, are a crucial priority for Uzbekistan.

Saidov stressed the importance of the early commissioning of the Trans-Afghan railway, stating that "this will be a strong stimulus for the development of trade between Central and South Asia and will positively impact global trade."

In conclusion, the Uzbek minister expressed readiness to develop relations with Azerbaijan and Turkiye in the fields of tourism and culture and wished Baku success in organizing large international events.
