TB patients increase in number in Azerbaijan

"At present there are nearly 8,000 tuberculosis patients in Azerbaijan. But as for us, the number of the patients is more, this indicator has increased," director of Scientific Researches Institute of Lungs Diseases Faig Agayev said.

He said that such patients avoid registration. Saying that they have already begun to register the patients, Agayev said the number of death cases from tuberculosis among prisoners has reduced by 10-12%.

"Tuberculosis among children has reduced during last years. Most of the patients are under 18-35-40 ages," director told the APA.
