Trial on appeal of former chief of Nizami Police Department #23 starts

After the discussions with the participants the trail was postponed till February 27.

The chief of Committee on Democracy and Human Rights Chingiz Ganizade said that this delay is related with the appeal of some rights' defenders to chief of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev to take control over the case.

Medetov is accused of Article 149 (rape) and 134 (threaten by killing or injuring) of Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 13 years in jail, but Court of Appeals reduced this punishment to 11 years. APA
