15 000 earthquakes registered in Azerbaijan, 2006

548 of them have been analyzed and it was defined that the epicenters of the shocks were in Azerbaijani territory, Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Republic Seismological Center director general Arif Hasanov told the APA.

Hasanov noted that six tremors were recorded in Azerbaijan that was felt. This shocks happened in Pirgulu on January 30, in Devechi-Siyazan on February 4, in Zagatala on June 4, in Gobustan on June 12, in Jalilabad on September 20, in Lenkeran on December 2. The general director noted that two earthquake facts have been recorded in Januarys this year. No destruction was reported as the result of the tremors occurred in Khachmaz-Khudat on January 11 and in Yardimli-Lerik on January 16.
